Scientific report 2025 of the Transplant Complications Working Party (TCWP)

Major achievements

Despite all our efforts and progress in our field, significant clinical challenges remain, which TCWP addresses by optimising current management and improving the evidence base for developing new treatment strategies.

In 2025, we:

  • improved scientific and educational output and quality by expanding collaboration with other EBMT Working Parties.
  • strengthened our partnerships with the EBMT Nurses Group. We integrated nursing-specific content into our scientific and educational activities.
  • intensified collaboration with patient representatives to ensure patient-centred scientific action.
  • planned, conducted, analysed, and published studies on complications following stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.
  • published evidence-based recommendations for the clinical management of patients with complications following CAR-T cell therapy.
  • organised two educational Meetings:
    • Complications post CAR-T Cell Therapy in Paediatric and Adult Patients, 16-18 January 2025, Malaga, Spain
    • Transplant Complications Working Party Educational Meeting, 1-3 October 2025, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Continued to build up and consolidate the TCWP team, which will further improve effectiveness and scientific output in the future.
