The staff at the Leiden Study Unit and Clinical Study Unit are involved in coordinating and supporting clinical research studies within the EBMT community. Together with the office in Barcelona and Paris they manage The EBMT Registry. It is the backbone of EBMT’s research and educational activities. The staff from these Study Units play a crucial role to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of our patient data. Through this research, we aim to advance cellular and stem cell-based therapies to save and improve the lives of patients with blood-related disorders.
Fun fact: our Leiden office is located in the Poortgebouw, a national monument that was part of the old academic hospital in Leiden.

The staff at the EBMT Executive Office in Barcelona play a crucial role in the effective management, coordination, and administration of the EBMT. They are divided into many different units, this includes education & events, communications, marketing, membership and HR. The JACIE Accreditation Office is also located here. JACIE is Europe’s only official accreditation body in the field of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and cellular therapy. The JACIE staff promote high-quality patient care and medical and laboratory practice through a profession-led, voluntary accreditation scheme.
Fun fact: Our Barcelona based staff are currently enjoying a new office space following our relocation from the Catalan Blood and Tissue Bank.

The EBMT coordinates its scientific activities through 11 Working Parties and the Nurses Group. The staff at the Paris Study Unit host 6 of these Working Parties: ALWP, ADWP, LWP, PDWP, TCWP and HWP, as well as the GO-CART team. The GO-CART Coalition is a multi-stakeholder community that promotes patient access to novel cellular therapies. Our study coordinators, statisticians, and data managers collaborate closely with physicians to publish both academic studies and collaborative research projects with pharmaceutical companies.
Fun fact: our Paris office is located on the 10th floor of Hôpital Saint Antoine, so the staff have a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower.
