Scientific report 2022 of the Transplant Complications Working Party (TCWP)
Major achievements
During 2022 the Transplant Complications Working Party (TCWP) finalised in the form of publications several important projects: a systemic review on male late effects in collaboration with CIBMTR, harmonisation of guidelines on diagnosis and harmonisation of definitions for diagnostic and prognostic criteria of transplantation-associated thrombotic microangiopathy. Several studies were finalised in the form publications, including first real-life experience with cytopenias and organ toxicities post CAR-T therapies. On the basis of these two studies the process of recommendations preparation was started to address cytopenia after CAR-T. TCWP conducted a successful educational meeting in September in a format of patient case discussion and sharing practical skills.
In this year's educational meeting both patient advocates, nurses and best abstract winners participated in the sessions, which significantly improved the audience feedback and participation in the activities. TCWP also actively participated in the 7th International Transplant Course in Barcelona in September. Significant work was done on harmonisation of definitions for the new EBMT database to improve the quality and speed of TCWP studies in the future.
