Case and Grant Submission

Please consider using the “Submit a Case and Apply for a Grant” button above to start the process. Beware that this submission does not imply the registration to the meeting.

The EBMT is thrilled to announce the expansion of the EBMT Travel Grant programme, designed to enhance participation, foster inclusivity, and advance education within our Educational Meetings. These grants intend to alleviate the financial burden of in-person attendance to meetings, covering registration fees, and providing coverage for travel and accommodation expenses.

Oral Presenters Travel Grants

Eligible oral presenters selected for the scientific programme committee of this Educational Meeting will receive an EBMT Travel Grant. The grant will cover registration fee cost, and a maximum reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses.

  • 7 travel grants for oral presenters of €850
Outreach Travel Grants

Outreach Grants are also available, we encourage you to submit your work and check the correct option while applying.

  • 2 travel grants of €1,800 for physicians residing in countries classified as Low-income or lower-middle-income country residents (including Ukraine) or from Upper-middle income countries (applies to trainee/junior faculty only).

Submitting a case is not required to receive an Outreach Grant; nevertheless, applicants are encouraged to submit an abstract linked to the scientific programme to reinforce their application, even when no presentation is planned.

The reimbursement will not be paid in advance, but rather after the meeting, upon receipt of the completed reimbursement form along with all relevant receipts in the correct format.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a presenter grant, applicants must:

  • Submit a case through the system (max. 500 words). You will find the main topics when you access the submission system.
  • Submit proof of their trainee, junior faculty or nurse status. Junior faculty is defined by EBMT as having five years or less of experience in a faculty role. EBMT recommends a letter from the institution’s Head of Department, please find a template here.

Please note that the EBMT will collect the age range of the presenter for statistical purposes; however, age is not an eligibility criterion for accessing these grants. Submitters who have been awarded an EBMT Grant within the last three years will have lower priority for a new grant than those who have not received one in that period.

Application Requirements

To apply for the grant, in addition to submitting the case, applicants are required to submit the following documents through the platform:

  • CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • Letter of Motivation (maximum 350 words)
Other Information

Eligible applicants who do not require or cannot accept a grant can select not to apply during the submission. This does not have an impact on the eligibility of the case.

Non-trainee or non-junior faculty are welcome to submit their cases, but they will not be eligible for a grant. This does not have an impact on the eligibility of the case.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted by the Scientific Programme Committee of the Educational Meeting. Candidates will be evaluated based on their merits and the quality/relevance of their work.
