ASTCT and EBMT Joint Meeting of this year was in Sitges, a beautiful town southwest of Barcelona, Spain. Before we start talking about great science, the historic atmosphere and captivating beaches in the Mediterranean Sea welcomed us with its fresh green and pure blue nature.
Trailblazing experts focused on various innovative fields including Immune Metabolism, GvHD, Stem cell biology, Cell engineering, NK cells and anti-leukemic strategies. The program flow was just perfect and complementary to each other!
Discovery is always driven by curiosity and starts with every simple question. Two and a half days of best version Science in Stem cell transplantation and Cellular therapy field was full of new experimental and translational findings flourished with dynamic and fruitful discussions. At the end of the day, there was a take home message for all. Poster session was another plus of this meeting with much excitement and more idea exchange between junior and senior academics.
Besides nice interactions and networking during the whole meeting, there was also a lot of time to meet experts and discuss research ideas, perspectives and visions between separate sessions. This was truly very inspiring for young next-gen physicians and scientists.
Meet-the-professor session was a unique opportunity for junior attendees to ask questions in mind about their projects, basis of concepts and get career wise advice.
The key feature of the meeting that clearly outstands all other currently existing meetings is the afternoon break of almost four hours, allowing participants to relax, network or follow their works.
The location and warm weather outside were awesome during dinners with nice Mediterranean view and unforgettable moments.
A big thank you to the organizing committee, speakers, poster presenters, audience and all involved in this great event! We are looking forward to meeting next year in the US!
