Iris Agreiter, Staff nurse at the National Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centre in Dublin, St. James’s Hospital

“When the EBMT Nurses Group introduced back in 2017 the role of the link nurse in the Working Parties, I had no doubts for which one to apply, as I had a huge interest and background in infections. The Infectious Diseases Working Party (IDWP) reserved me a heart-warming welcome and involved me from the first Business Meeting. I have always felt an important part of it, got precious advice and help throughout the process of the survey on Protective Environment, which has been published last January in BMT Journal (https://www.ebmt.org/ebmt/news/new-publication-bmt-contribution-nurses-protective-environment-haematopoietic-cell). As I will progress and return to Infectious Diseases, I will miss all the nice people I have met in my role as IDWP link nurse, it has been a great experience. Thanks to all from the bottom of my heart and best of luck to the nurse who will be interested to apply for the position.”
