It was a sunny and warm Paris that greeted our fourteen trainees from France and Belgium who joined us for the inspector training course on the 15th of September 2023. All trainees completed e-learning modules on the Accreditation process and the FACT-JACIE Standards prior to attending this one-day workshop on the inspection process and techniques.

We were fortunate to have inspectors: Olivier Urbain, Desiree Caselli, Eugenia Trigoso and Bruna Gotardo to join the workshop to share their expertise and knowledge on the practical challenges for our inspectors. Dr Gotardo also led, what turned out to be a highly competitive, kahoot quiz, related to ISBT128 and labelling Standards.

Our trainees will now complete an exam on the Standards relevant to their specialist areas before attending an inspection as an observer. Following this the latest cohort will join the inspection teams in French speaking inspections around Europe.

Furthermore, she is involved in establishing a post-transplant clinic dedicated to post allogeneic long-term follow-up programs. Tereza shares with us her experience.

"I had the great opportunity to participate in the JACIE Inspector Training Course in Paris, an experience that proved to be both enriching and captivating.

The event took place close to Bastille neighborhood and being in the heart of Paris not only added to the allure but also made it convenient for attendees coming from various parts of the world.

The focal point of this course revolved around the core values upheld by JACIE and the sessions delved into the rigorous standards governing pre-inspection and inspection processes for clinical bone marrow transplant units, collecting and processing facilities, and quality management. Moreover, we explored the pivotal roles of Directors and Team Leaders within the JACIE inspection process, which shed light on the intricacies of maintaining excellence in transplantation.

One of the standout features of this course was the exceptionally interactive and well-facilitated sessions. This course fostered a dynamic environment that encouraged exchanges between participants and instructors, making the learning experience even more impactful.

This day confirmed how becoming a JACIE Inspector gives a true opportunity to deepen the understanding of the JACIE-FACT certification standards within my center and to connect with peers from various European countries who share the same interests.

I would like to extend a special recognition to Tuula Rintala, Raquel Espada, XiuLi Tan and all the instructors involved in making the JACIE Inspector Training Course possible, and who create this platform for growth and collaboration."
