Kathy Goris, clinical nurse specialist (CNS) in allogeneic stem cell transplantation at the University Hospitals of Leuven in Belgium.

“My main interests involve research in patient reported outcomes and in ways to improve and re-engineer follow-up care after allogeneic stem cell transplantation. I’m a member of the EBMT Nurses Group Scientific Committee (SC) since 2016 and honoured to represent this group as chairperson since May 2021. In this group I get the opportunity to learn from and collaborate and share expertise with a dedicated group of experienced nurses and allied health care professionals from all over Europe with specific interests in hematology and stem cell transplantation.

The Scientific Committee is responsible for the nurse oriented scientific program at the EBMT Annual Meeting. Our ambition is that all nurses and allied health care professionals, regardless of their experience within the field of hematologic stem cell transplantation, learn something new at the EBMT Annual Meetings. The aim is to empower them to bring home some improvement ideas so that the quality of care is enhanced in their own practice. A great goal to actively participate in.”
