Autoimmune Diseases Working Party (ADWP)

The Working Party Nurse is a role that is now firmly established as a valuable resource in each of the medical Working Parties. The goal to develop collaborative nursing/medical projects for patient benefit continues to develop at pace. The roles have begun to adapt to the needs of the WP with many nurses taking more responsibility for education. Meet with Ariadna Domènech, from Spain, who has been nominated recently as the Autoimmune Diseases Working Party Nurse (ADWP Nurse).

Ariadna Domènech, ADWP Nurse from Spain

I am pleased to introduce myself as the new ADWP nurse link as I believe it is an extraordinary opportunity to give visibility to the nurses' role in the care of patients with autoimmune disease who receive an HSCT. I am looking forward to contributing with my extensive experience, of more than 20 years, as a registered nurse in the HSCT ward at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. During these years, I have participated in several joint studies with physicians and nurses, and I have been a member of the Spanish Nurses Group, where I have collaborated in the scientific committee organizing educational events for nurses.
