GoCART Coalition Advances the CAR-T Passport for Physicians

The GoCART Coalition is pleased to share the next step in the development of the CAR-T Passport for Physicians, with all 10 e-learning modules now complete. Following the release of the first modules at the EBMT-EHA 8th European CAR T-cell Meeting in February, the full set of modules and online assessments, based on the EU CAR-T Handbook, is now in place.

The most important next step is the certification system that gives the passport its value. Rather than requiring physicians to complete all 10 modules, the Coalition is defining a core set of mandatory modules, including those on the management of complications, alongside elective modules physicians can choose according to their needs. Those who complete the required modules to the expected standard will receive a certificate valid for three years, intended to become part of a physician's own training record and to serve as recognised proof of competency, particularly when moving between treatment centres, addressing a long-standing gap in how CAR-T proficiency is documented across sites.

By working towards a single, portable standard of competency, the passport aims to reduce duplicated training and ensure consistent quality of care across the CAR-T community. It is the first in a planned series, with programmes for other healthcare professionals to follow.
