Get involved in IMPLEMENT SoHO Project: Shaping the Future of Substances of Human Origin Across Europe

EBMT is pleased to share its active participation in the IMPLEMENT-SoHO project, a pioneering European initiative by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) on behalf of DG SANTE, under the #EU4Health Programme.

The project aims to support SoHO professionals across the EU in preparing for the implementation of the new Substances of Human Origin Regulation (EU) 2024/1938, which will apply from August 2027. The project will deliver targeted training, cross-border exchange visits and evidence-based scientific guidance to support SoHO professionals and entities in maintaining high standards of quality, safety and supply of therapies.

As a key partner, EBMT is contributing sector-specific expertise and connecting you, the professional community, with the project. EBMT will be leading on dissemination and a pan-European digital campaign to raise awareness of voluntary and unpaid SoHO donation, supporting self-sufficiency in supply across the EU and EEA.

Please take a look at the full overview of the project for more detailed information. We aim to support professionals involved in implementing the SoHO Regulation within their organisation, regardless of which specific requirements they are working on, whether that relates to registration, authorisations, vigilance, donor protection, or any other aspect of the Regulation.

Please note that our first project activity launches shortly: an online survey open from 18 May to 6 June, covering your familiarity with the SoHO Regulation, implementation challenges, and training needs. Your responses will directly shape the training and capacity-building activities the project delivers, so make sure to participate!

Finally, we invite you to follow the project's LinkedIn page to stay updated with the latest news. We look forward to engaging with you in this project!
