The European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) and the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) have recently signed a research collaboration agreement, a milestone that formalises the scientific collaboration between the two organisations for all upcoming research projects.
EBMT and CIBMTR investigators interested in completing research projects that combine EBMT and CIBMTR data will have to address the principles of the research collaboration guidelines.
Investigators will have to clearly describe respective roles and responsibilities for each individual research project to maximize scientific impact and operational efficiency, protect private information and preserve organizational processes.
To this end, EBMT and CIBMTR have agreed on a Data Sharing Agreement, a legal document which includes all requirements from GDPR in order to enable the data transfer both ways for clinical research projects and also defines the collaboration terms between the organisations.
