From the beginning of December, we have been implementing changes in our terminology to ensure compliance with the Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008. This regulation defines the term "accreditation" as the process by which an accredited body (usually a national accreditation body) formally recognises the technical competence of a conformity assessment body (CAB) to perform specific tasks. Regulation also sets out requirement for Member States to have National Accreditation Bodies (NABs) which is responsible for accrediting conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and recognised by the European Commission.
The most visible of the changes will be the JACIE logo, which will now include a definition of JACIE as ‘Joint Assurance Committee of ISCT and EBMT’. This will be included in all the certificates the Centres receive at the end of the their certification process. Overtime, all JACIE documents will reflect this change.
