With more than 9,800 CAR-T infusions registered in the EBMT Registry, EBMT and EHA are proud to announce the fourth call for research proposals within the Scientific Excellence Work Package of the GoCART Coalition.

The aim of the call is to promote the use of existing EBMT Registry data and other sources of Real World Data and to strengthen collaborations across stakeholders in the field of CAR T-cell therapies.

Proposals for retrospective studies that are received by the submission deadline will be evaluated by a selection committee with EBMT and EHA leadership, a patient representative and an equitydiversity and inclusion representative against four criteria: scientific impact, novelty, feasibility and collaboration across stakeholders between research groups, centres and countries.

Who can apply?

Stakeholders represented under the GoCART coalition:

  • EBMT Working Parties / EBMT Committees with PIs and co-PIs from centres reporting initial and follow-up data from consecutive CART patients to the EBMT Registry
  • Scientific societies / groups / centres with PIs and co-PIs from centres reporting consecutive CART data to the EBMT Registry with the application issued from / endorsed by the society / group / centre (only one proposal / centre)
  • Non-European scientific societies / groups / centres which collaborate with European PIs and propose to use data from both their national registry and the EBMT registry
  • Patients and patients’ representatives
  • Health authorities, Health Technology Assessment bodies
  • Pharmaceutical companies - pharmaceutical companies are encouraged to present scientific proposals through the GoCART Coalition call and should contact the EBMT Business Unit before applying for the GoCART selection process.

The studies will be conducted by a dedicated GoCART study team at EBMT (comprising of a study coordinator, data manager, statisticians and a clinical data specialist) on behalf of the PIs.

EBMT will economically support the selected studies that are proposed by non-commercial partners by providing the personnel resources to conduct the study (there is no additional financial support). The EBMT business unit will draw up a budget for the conduct of any selected proposal that includes a pharmaceutical company.

Would you like to contribute to the advancement of the CAR T-cell therapy field and do you have a good study proposal? Please submit your proposal using the form and send it to GoCART@ebmt.org. The deadline for submission is 13 September 2024.

Please check the ongoing GoCART (https://thegocartcoalition.com/our-work/scientific-excellence) and EBMT Working Party CAR T-cell studies (https://www.ebmt.org/research/studies, search the “Type of transplant / Cell therapy” field, select the “CAR T” option) before developing your proposal to avoid any duplication of work.

Up to four winning proposals will be announced on 13 December 2024.

Looking forward to an exciting scientific wave of proposals and discussions.

Sincerely yours,

On behalf of EBMT, Prof Dr Anna Sureda, President of the EBMT

On behalf of EHA, Prof Antonio Almeida, President of EHA
