Day#3

Tuesday March 27, 2019

This day was awesome!

I began this day with paediatric sessions which was full of important information. Then we went to the social media session with other young ambassadors. The speakers shared many useful tips you need to know about sharing information on social media. So from now I think I will be more careful about my activity on the internet.

This day also was full of inspiration thanks to the young ambassadors meeting. I do not want to spoil but I think there will be a really fresh and new session on EBMT 2020. Sure, you will like it!

And the evening was really exciting at the EBMT networking event. Such an incredible party. Impressive show, jazz, tasty dinner and fun dances in a gorgeous Palmengarten … What a beautiful day!

Day#2

Monday March 25, 2019

Every day on EBMT Annual Meeting is full of new knowledge and also emotions.

What about knowledge at this day I was mainly focused on VOD. All lectures on this topic were useful, vivid and memorable. There were also bright lectures on the Presidential Symposium. I was impressed by results of treosulfan-based conditioning-regimen in AML and MDS patients.

I really liked the poster session. There was very pleasant and free atmosphere. You can easily approach any scientist and receive detailed answer to your questions. And I’m also grateful for the opportunity to present our poster.

Concerning emotions, I was so glad to meet other Young Ambassadors today. I believe that such talented, friendly and spirited people can contribute to future development of young EBMT community.

Day#1

Sunday March 24, 2019

The first day on the EBMT Annual Meeting was incredible!

This day started for me from “MRD-driven therapy in Acute Leukemia”. I was really amazed by all the lectures. This symposium helped to see the problem from many perspectives and it forces everyone to think about the treatment globally and flexibly in the fast changing world of haematology.

The next symposium I attended was “GVHD: the latest hot topics”. Not surprisingly that the hall was overcrowded! There are so many important facts which you need to take into account in treatment of your patients: biomarkers which can help you to choose the most winning strategy for GVHD therapy, management of post-Cy cardiotoxicity, quality of life in patients after HCST, smart nutritional support etc.

Personally, I would say that the most grandiose event today was the Opening Ceremony. All the lectures were so inspiring. It teaches us to spread our horizon and think about our therapy deeper. For example, did you know how our microbiome influences on the response and toxicity of CAR-T therapy? And what also is important is that the last lecture was dedicated to the loss of biodiversity. As human beings we need to concern not only about personal health, but also about global problems in order to improve our future.

I can infinitely write about all the session but it’s just impossible to describe, so don’t miss the most interesting session for you next day!

How am I getting ready for the EBMT Annual Meeting?

March 11, 2019

This EBMT Annual meeting will be the first for me. And to say that I’m doubly excited and pleased not only to attend this meeting, but also to be chosen as young ambassador is to say nothing.

I have heard a lot about the high importance of this event and I can’t wait to learn the newest investigations in heamatology and cutting-edge treatment approaches. And in order to spend the time with the most benefit, I have started to make my own schedule.  Not surprisingly that it isn’t simple because programme is very rich. So for now, I have my own “Must-attend” list which is mainly focused on acute leukemia and post-transplant complications. For example, the first symposium I’m planning to attend will be “MRD-driven therapy in acute leukemia”.  I’m really interested to know the opinion of the worldwide famous scientists on this disputable and unsolved topic.

Another crucial moment at the EBMT Annual meeting is the great possibility to meet your colleagues from all over the world and set up a bridge for the future collaboration. And one of the best places for this might be a poster session. So now, I’m preparing our poster and looking forward to presenting it to wide publicity.

Hope, everyone will be inspired by the EBMT Annual meeting and it will help us to proceed our job full of new ideas and investigations.
