This year, the Annual Conference of the Inborn Errors Working Party (IEWP) will be held in Freiburg, Germany, from 26-28 September 2025. It will be a great pleasure to welcome international physicians and experts with a special interest in cellular therapy for inborn errors, on behalf of IEWP EBMT. 

The conference will feature comprehensive sessions on stem cell transplantation and gene therapy across inborn errors of immunity, inborn errors of metabolism, haemoglobinopathies, as well as new indications. 

There will be special scientific sessions and insights from distinguished keynote speakers. 

We are excited to invite you to join us in supporting this key event, which offers a unique platform for networking and visibility among leading professionals.

Grant Details

The Inborn Errors Working Party is thrilled to announce travel grants.

The grant will cover the maximum reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses incurred by participants after attending the event.
In addition, recipients will receive a complimentary registration to the event.

Travel Grants amounts

  • 3 grants x €500 each 

Application Requirements
To apply for the grant, interested individuals are required to submit the following documents:

  • CV (Curriculum Vitae)
  • Letter of Motivation
  • Case Report Topics
    • Metabolic diseases
    • Combined Immunodeficiencies
    • HLH
    • Autoinflammation
    • B-cells and CVID
    • EBV associated IEI

Selection Process
The selection of grant recipients will be conducted by the Organisers of our event. Candidates will be evaluated based on their merits and the quality/relevance of their work.

Timeline

  • Submission Deadline (*): 29 June 2025; 23:59 CEST
  • Selection communication: 7 July 2025
  • Deadline for confirmation from selected participants: 14 July 2025; 23:59 CEST

The Educational Meeting will be held in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany at the Stadthohel Freiburg, only in person.

How to get to the venue:

Freiburg is easily accessible from several major airports:

  • EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) – ~1 hour by bus
  • Frankfurt Airport (FRA) – ~2 hours by direct train
  • Zurich Airport (ZRH) – ~2 hours by train with frequent connections

Freiburg has excellent rail connections. Direct and regular trains run from both Frankfurt and Zurich airports to Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main station). The venue is a short walk or tram ride from the station.

 

Travel and accommodation

Participants will be responsible for covering their travel and accommodation costs. The below map shows some accommodation options near the course's venue. Please note that EBMT does not manage hotel availability or set prices.


Important information 

EBMT cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to the private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

EBAH-CME Accreditation

We are pleased to announce that this educational course will be accredited by the EBAH-CME credits system.

In order to collect your EBAH-CME credits, we recommend that you create an EBAH-CME account by clicking here. By registering on the EBAH-CME website, you will have access to the record of all other events you have already been accredited for. After the meeting, an updated attendance list will be uploaded to the EBAH-CME website.

If you already have an account, you will receive an email to evaluate the course and claim your points. If after 15 days you have not received an email regarding your credits, please contact the EBMT Educational Events Unit at education.events@ebmt.org.
