EBMT Statistical Committee

The EBMT Statistical Course combines lectures and practical sessions covering data collection, descriptive analyses, basic statistical testing, confounding, survival analysis, competing risks and how missing baseline values can be handled.

The EBMT Statistical Committee is pleased to announce the 8th edition of its Statistical Course, open to both EBMT members and non-members, and aimed at clinicians and data managers.
If you would like to gain a better understanding of regression methods and survival analysis methods in particular or apply these methods yourselves then register to the EBMT Statistical Course. The course will take place over four days, from 19 to 22 October 2026, in Leiden, The Netherlands. It will comprise a combination of lectures and practical sessions covering data collection, descriptive analyses, basic statistical testing, confounding, survival analysis, interaction terms, competing risks and how missing baseline values can be handled.

Participants will also gain hands-on experience with clinical data in computer practicals to master these methods. The free statistical software R will be used. Participants are not expected to have prior knowledge of statistical methods.

The lectures will be given by EBMT statisticians and internationally renowned experts Liesbeth de Wreede and Hein Putter. 

Places are limited.

Participants are required to bring their own Wi-Fi enabled laptop with R and RStudio pre-installed. Instructions on how to install these will be provided in advance.

After the event, you will receive an email with a short survey to evaluate the course. Once you have completed it, you will be able to download the certificate of attendance.

The Educational Meeting will be held in Leiden, The Netherlands, only in person at the Golden Tulip & Tulip Inn Leiden Centre.

Travel and accommodation

Participants will be responsible for covering their travel and accommodation costs. Please note that EBMT does not manage hotel availability or set prices.  

Important information

EBMT cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to the private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

Please ensure you have a valid passport/ID to travel to The Netherlands. Should you need a VISA letter, you will be able to download it after the registration process.
