By Thomas Jezequel, Chair of the French Nurses Group
Since the beginning of 2024, the French Nurses Group (GFIC-GM) has been involved in a number of projects that have already come to fruition.
The first and foremost was participating in the review of the French version of the EBMT Textbook for Nurses. The translation of this book is a great opportunity to provide educational and scientific content to all French-speaking nurses, promoting evidence-based practice. We are particularly grateful to the EBMT Nurses Group for helping to overcome the language barrier and making training accessible to everyone.
This project was presented during our annual educational day for haematology and transplant caregivers, which took place on June 6th in Paris. This year, our program focused on transplantation in the context of sickle cell disease. Beyond purely medical and nursing contributions, it was an opportunity to discuss themes related to interculturality in care, or how to better support people with different cultures, beliefs, and values. We also reiterated our research focus, offering educational content to help nurses better understand scientific literature. This hybrid event (in-person and virtual) brought together nearly 150 participants.
We are now working on the program for our national annual meeting, which will take place in November 2024 in Toulouse.
