Quality Managers Committee

The Quality Managers Committee (QMC) is one of JACIE's long-standing Committees, consisting of experts in Quality Management (QM) in the Stem Cell Transplantation field and active QM in JACIE Certified centres from a wide range of countries. Recently, there have been changes to the members, which are described below:

Julie Dolva (Norway) and Ilknur Kozanoglu (Turkey) are stepping down after several years of contributions, including staying on for an additional year to ensure a smooth transition and handover to the new members appointed in 2024. We would like to acknowledge all their work and dedication to this Committee.

As a result of an open call process, which attracted a large number of excellent candidates, we are delighted to welcome two new members to the QMC:

  • Barbara Loconte (Switzerland) is a Quality Manager working in the Cell Therapy Program in Bellinzona for several years, and
  • Silvia Bisin (Italy) works at the Meyer Hospital in Florence since 2003 as head of production department of academic GMP facility as well as QM in Transfusion Medicine and Processing unit of hematopoietic transplant paediatric program. She is also an active JACIE inspector for Processing and an inspector for the Italian National Transplant Centre

The following members, who joined in 2024, remain on the committee: Laurel Anderson (United Kingdom), Lea Brandt Kristensen (Denmark), Nick van Sinderen (The Netherlands), Olivier Urbain (Belgium) and Rachel Luke (United Kingdom).

Anne Emmett (United Kingdom) remains as Chair of the QMC. Anne is also a QM member of the JACIE Accreditation Committee since 2018, as well as JACIE QM Inspector since 2017. In addition, Anne has  been part of the FACT-JACIE Standards Sub-Committee for Quality for the 8th and the 9th Editions of the FACT-JACIE Standards.

Looking ahead, the QMC is focused on expanding its activities. The Committee will continue to provide  feedback from Centres to support improvements in the certification process and is also planning to develop scientific publications  on relevant quality management topics.
