Inspectors are the backbone of JACIE; without them, there is no accreditation process. Becoming an inspector is a wonderful way to contribute to maintaining global quality standards. As the number of JACIE applications has increased, we are constantly looking for new inspectors to join our ranks. At the moment, we are particularly keen to hear of German, French and Spanish speaking Clinicians and Quality Managers.
Each month, you will have the opportunity to meet with one of our JACIE Inspector who will share his/her experience.

I serve as the Manager of Laboratory Services at the GMP-Cellular Therapy Laboratory at Hamad Hospital in Doha, Qatar, and my career in transplant therapy products began in 1992. I am a member of the JACIE Inspector Committee (JIC) and a certified JACIE inspector specialising in Collection, Processing, and Quality Management, with experience conducting both national and international inspections. Additionally, I am certified as a Quality Manager for Tissue Establishments/Transplant Programs and Blood Banks by the Italian Ministry of Health and hold Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001 from the Italian Institute of Quality (IMQ). I am also an active member of the DLMP Risk Management Committee at Hamad Hospital.
Why did you decide to become a JACIE inspector?
I chose to become an inspector to assist with the accreditation process for my previous processing laboratory in Italy.
What has been the most memorable inspection that you have ever done?
The small processing lab in Italy is among the best, and the entire JACIE team was welcomed as friends. The lab truly understood the vital role of JACIE, and I took pride in being one of the "JACIE boys." Each inspection provided valuable insights and opportunities for improvement. The team leader, group members, and staff from every inspected center consistently contributed to our growth and development.
What ‘keys to successful JACIE accreditation’ can you share with us?
Throughout my extensive work experience, the journey toward accreditation has transformed my mindset and enriched my professional role. It has enhanced knowledge sharing across all facilities and fostered a greater sense of respect and awareness. This process has given us the confidence to work in alignment with established standards.
How has your career/work benefited from being a JACIE inspector?
I have gained significant enrichment in knowledge, as the quality system has positively impacted my work. It has opened my mind to collaborating effectively and consistently adhering to established standards, ultimately strengthening my professional skills.
Do you have any tips or advice for anyone who aspires to become a JACIE Inspector?
I highly recommend this incredible experience, both professionally and personally. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills and share knowledge with others. With each national or international inspection, you continually grow and meet new friends, allowing you to share and compare experiences. It’s essential to remember that learning and teaching go hand in hand. An inspector is not a mere authority figure; rather, they embody the spirit of JACIE, and we should all take pride in that role.
