I am currently holding the position of Head Nurse Bone Marrow transplant and Director Infection Prevention & Control at the National Institute of blood diseases and bone marrow transplantation in Lahore, Pakistan. I completed my Masters in Paediatric Haematology oncology nursing in 2024. As a nurse since 1995 and with 20 years of experience as an advanced practice oncology nurse practitioner, since 2006, my work has been focused on Bone Marrow Transplantation and Infection Prevention and control. I am the first Nurse who has established a BMT unit in a public sector along with training and education of nurses and doctors. I got the chance to participate in different international courses at St Jude’s research hospital, WHO, and John Hopkin’s university. I am honored with a Master of Nursing Award 2023 from Global Power of Oncology Nursing UK and My Child matter awards from Sanofi.

In Pakistan there is more physicians than nurses. Furthermore, Nurses have limited access for training and education not only international but also at a national level. As a part of an EBMT Working Party, I have vision to promote nurses from Pakistan especially working in haematology oncology BMT units. And with the help of experts, I will be able to educate and train nurses across Pakistan. I also want to promote research in the field of BMT Nursing.

I am honored to join Infectious Diseases Working Party (IDWP) and to work with EBMT to improve the nursing care and research. Especially to contribute to the vulnerable populations in LMIC, like Pakistan.
