As part of the JACIE Certification Process, an Interim Audit (IA) is conducted at the end of the second year of certification.

It aims to ensure that centres continue to meet the Standards throughout the certification period and maintain their quality management system through the certification period.

What to Expect

The IA is a desktop review focused on:

  • A selected subset of the Standards
  • The functioning of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Understanding any changes made to the programme during the certification period

Standards Edition

The 2026 Interim Audits will be conducted under the 9th Edition of the FACT-JACIE Standards, ensuring that centres follow the most current requirements and address any gaps in their processes in a timely manner. This will enable the centres to adapt to the new Standards over a longer period and to help in preparation at the time of the re-certification.

All Centres due to undertake IA in 2026 will be contacted directly with the updated interim audit checklist and the access to the related folder structure for the upload of the evidence of compliance. Centres have 60 days from receiving the email to respond and submit their IA documentation.

For any questions about the process,  please do not hesitate to contact us at jacie@ebmt.org.
