By Amany Orabe, Quality Coordinator at Jeddah King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre

The JACIE inspection team met prior to the inspection visit to plan the two-day visit.

On the first day, Ms. Dania Arabi, the team leader, discussed the agenda with the JACIE inspection team and hospital team and provided a clear explanation of the inspection visit plan. The visit to Charles University Hospital Pilsen was pleasant – they were great hosts, providing Wi-Fi access, badges, and what necessary resources.

Despite the fact that most of the hospital team was not fluent in English, the communication was quite smooth. They had English translators with a medical background and used Google translation to translate the necessary documentation. That streamlined the inspection process, enabling the hospital team to respond effectively to enquiries and questions. It was a delightful opportunity to discuss the programme sections (Quality, Collection, Clinical, and Processing) along with their associated challenges and opportunities with a very professional JACIE team.

I am grateful to be part of such an incredible JACIE inspection team and want to thank everyone for seamlessly integrating me as their equal from the beginning; Dr. Hans and Dr. Rachel, who created an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and reviewing documents, and I gained valuable insights from their extensive experience in the field. Special thanks to Dania for being a great mentor who had provided me with full support before, during and after the visit. Thanks to Xiu Li Tan (JACIE Inspectors Coordinator) for who you are! I admired her from the first moment, the nice gift (JACIE pin and sweets) she gave to us with a smile made a big difference to me. Thanks to Bruno Di Liscia (Accreditation Coordinator) for organising the visit and promptly addressing any questions.

Furthermore, the hospital team provided a separate space for me to perform my prayer as a Muslim. This inclusive gesture enhanced the positivity and overall comfort of my experience.

The inspection was conducted efficiently and successfully, with active participation from the Charles University Hospital team in the opening and closing meetings. Confidently, I am enthusiastically and eagerly looking forward to the next inspection!
