The Austrian National Group for Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation was founded in March 2007 as a specialised sub-organisation of the AHOP. The AHOP is an organisation for nurses working with patients suffering from haematological and/or oncological diseases.

The goals of the Austrian National Group since foundation are:

  • Building up a network for nurses in order to better exchange experiences and information
  • More promotion and cooperation with EBMT and other national groups
  • Improvement of education
  • Professional research and development of knowledge (EBN)
  • Building contacts with self-help groups

Therefore we meet twice a year in Austria, as there are 12 hospitals conducting SCT/BMT.
