The Annual Meeting of the EBMT has a rich history of over 50 years. Today, it is the most important annual event for research and education in the field of haematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular therapy in Europe, attracting thousands of participants for four days in person and virtually.

Contest Session promotes dialogue and information exchange on more philosophical topics related to HCT and Cellular Therapy. The EBMT Contest session is open to all congress participants: Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Psychologists, and other healthcare professionals at any career stage.
The topic for this year is: Machine Dreams: How can AI shape hematology now and in the future?

The Reward
The five best essays will be selected and presented in person at the 51st Annual Meeting of the EBMT in Florence on 30 March-2 April 2025, gaining expsure and visibility among our international scientific community. The chairs of the session in conjunction with the audience will decide the winner onsite in Florence.
The finalists of the session will receive full free registration to the congress. The winner of the Contest will also receive coverage for the congress travel and accommodation expenses.

Attention young researchers, the EBMT Cellular Therapy & Immunobiology Working Party is thrilled to announce the Jon J. van Rood Award. A 5,000€ recognition for groundbreaking contributions in the field of:
- Hematopoietic Transplantation Immunology,
- Immunogenetics,
- Tolerance,
- Graft-vs-leukaemia / tumour effects,
- Immune monitoring and engineering of Immune Effector Cell Therapies.

✈️ Special Travel Grants to attend EBMT 2025
EBMT offers 15 grants for physican participants and 7 grants for other healthcare professional participants (Nurses, Quality Managers, Data Managers, Statisticians, Psychologists, Pharmacists) to attend the 51st Annual Meeting in person. Each grant is valued at:
- €1,500 for European participants
- €2,500 for non-European participants
Additionally, grant recipients will receive a free registration to the congress. Applications are now open and are due by Sunday, 15 December 2025 at 23:59 CET. Discover more here.

Apply for a JACIE Inspectors Grant by 15 December 2024 and you could win an in-person/virtual spot at the 51st Annual Meeting of the EBMT!
Requirements:
- You have inspected in 2024.
- You can contribute a short review of attending the Annual Meeting.
- Note that registration spots are non-transferable.
- Note that applications will be evaluated based on number of inspections and engagements performed in 2024.
Results will be announced early January before the Early Bird registration ends.
