Any Italian or foreign pharmaceutical company that owns medicines with a marketing authorisation in Italy (AIC), or that, on the basis of an agreement with the respective owner, is responsible for the actual marketing of medicines, and that intends to organise or contribute to the organisation of a congress, conference, or meeting on topics related to the use of medicines, must request authorisation as indicated in Article 124 of Legislative Decree 219/2006.
The authorisation request must be submitted well in advance and no later than 60 days before the start date of the event.
