Message from the Nurses Group Board

Nursing Global Education Committee

As 2021 draws to a close and we approach the holiday period, the sense of ‘déjà vu’ is mixed with many emotions. We are now facing a new Covid-19 variant with real uncertainty about its impact. Although from what we know, it seems very likely that the increase in infections will lead to hospital admissions and concern for us all, our patients, colleagues, friends and family.

As we press on, there is an enormous feeling of pride in the achievements of our health services and also our transplant and cell therapy nursing community. Within and outside of the EBMT Nurses Group, we have continued to share best practice, support, learn and educate and collaborate with colleagues in other areas of the world. Despite these uncertain times, nurses have remained a constant at the forefront of patient care and we will continue to do our best to care for our patients and each other.

We wish you and your loved ones a peaceful Christmas, for those working over the festive period, we hope you have the opportunity to relax and that 2022 offers more in the way of rest and recovery.

Stay safe and well.

Best wishes,
