13-14 June 2019 in Barcelona Spain

Maria Florencia Tisi Baña is a pediatrician in the hematology pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant department at the Hospital Italiano of Buenos Aires in Argentina.  She attended the JACIE training course last week that was held in Barcelona with more than 20 participants. Florencia tells us about her experience.

As it was the first time ever that I participated in this kind of educational course, everything was completely new for me. The meeting was held at a strategically located hotel in Barcelona, with direct access from and to the airport and at a short distance from the city center.

The subject of the course was the standards for clinical bone marrow transplant units, collecting, processing facilities and quality management, in order to improve patient care.

I attended the course as a future inspector as well as someone who is part of a team working to achieve FACT-JACIE Stepwise Certification. For both of these interests, the course was very clear and motivating. I believe there are so many things to do … and there are also many people (most of them I met there), dedicated to help each other to achieve and maintain the standards and also teach others to do the same.

I just want to  thank you all for this opportunity and I want to encourage those who have not taken the course yet to do it because I truly believe it helps you to enhance your professional life.
