EBMT 2008
Industry support for the EBMT's core activities continues to grow and we would like to once again thank the 20 corporate patrons who generously support the day-to-day work of the society.
Earlier this
year we were extremely happy to welcome Alexion Europe as a new level 1 corporate
patron. We are also pleased to announce that as of 1st
January 2008 Pharmion will join as level 2 sponsors and Biosafe will become level
1 sponsors. We look forward to working with these companies in building a successful,
long-term collaboration for the benefit of the BMT Field.
We are
also pleased to inform members that Genzyme have increased their support of the
EBMT by becoming level 3 sponsors and Cephalon have shown a desire to move-up
to level 2 sponsorship early next year. This extra funding will support
ongoing projects and allow the EBMT to further increase its scientific output.

Corporate
Symposia at EBMT 2008
At the beginning of September, corporate
representatives joined the EBMT 2008 Local Organising Committee and AKM in Florence
to discuss plans for satellite symposia, exhibitions and other sponsorship for
the EBMT 2008 meeting. The interaction was very positive and Industry support
for the meeting is excellent.
The EBMT 2008 meeting
will open on Sunday 30th March with a full and exciting
satellite symposia programme, developed in collaboration with the scientific committee
to avoid overlaps and complement the main scientific programme. Sixteen symposia
are scheduled for Sunday and we strongly encourage delegates to arrive on Saturday
in order to take full advantage of Corporate Sunday programme which commences
at 9 a.m.

The Nurses Group programme continues to grow and develop, and this year Genzyme plan to organise a Nursing Symposium. Two new nursing prizes will also be offered for the best Nursing abstracts. Novartis will sponsor a prize for the best poster and Fresenius Biotech GmbH plan to sponsor the best Oral presentation. The Nurses Group is very keen to develop collaboration with Industry on educational and research projects and Monica Fliedner would welcome any proposals for future projects.
