European Funded Projects

CLINT: Project update 1

CLINT is an EU-funded project, run as a Specific Support Action under the Framework 6 Programme. It is a 2 year project aimed at supporting the EBMT to further develop its infrastructure for the conduct of trans-European clinical trials in accordance with the EU Clinical Trials Directive, and to facilitate international prospective clinical trials in stem cell transplantation.

Following the official launch of the CLINT project on 1st April, members of the CLINT Steering Committee met in Barcelona at the beginning of October to report on progress in the first six months and to plan for the next stages of the project. A summary of the achievements to date and the ongoing goals of the main Work Packages (WP) are provided in this Project Update (please click here to download).

New Applications: Pending approval

We are pleased to inform members that two of the EBMT’s Working Parties have submitted funding applications to a recent call under the EU Seventh Framework Programme.

Both the Lymphoma Working Party and the Solid Tumours Working Party are participants in separate applications under the following call:

“HEALTH-2007-2.4.1-9: Innovative combination clinical trials for multimodal cancer therapy. Collaborative efforts combining novel radiation therapy strategies with either chemotherapy, immunotherapy and/or other biologically-based therapeutic strategies in a phase I or II setting should result in improving quality of life and/or survival of patients suffering from cancer”.

Should the applications be successful (we will know more early next year) the working parties will be working as part of a consortium of European transplant centres and national study groups, building long-lasting links between them and the EBMT.

Information regarding each working party’s proposal can be found on the relevant working Party report:

Solid Tumours Working Party

Lymphoma Working Party

We will keep you informed on the progress of these applications with periodic updates in the EBMT News.  Should you have any input into any of the proposals please feel free to contact the working party chairs.
