2nd Patient & Family Day

Building on the first event which took place in 2007 in Lyon, the 2nd EBMT Patient & Family Day brought together an extremely encouraging 503 (increase of 186%) patients and their families with doctors, caregivers, nurses and others clearly demonstrating the importance of this event.

Anita Waldmann, one of the main organisers of the Patient and Family Day, commented: “It is wonderful to see how these patients and families take this unique chance to interact with each other and the medical personnel at the EBMT Patient and Family Day. One of the best experiences for patients is the chance to meet survivors and hear about the new developments in transplantation. It is also very important that patients and physicians develop a true partnership together”

Dietger Niederwieser said, ¨EBMT is focused on providing the highest quality science and research into BMT. The Annual Patient and Family Day is an excellent chance to see how EBMT’s scientific advances impact the patients we care for as well as giving us a chance to learn about the patient’s needs and wishes.¨
