Introduction
The Security Services on both sides of the Atlantic feel a terrorist radiation incident is a reality and the Board are giving a high priority to Radiation awareness and Preparedness as a new and important part of the portfolio of functions of the EBMT for the future. The US also have a very high priority for this with 50 Centres already trained in the RITN network.
To this end we are asking your centre to have one or more representatives attend a free 4 hour training session at EBMT in Geneva (with CPD recognition) and we intend to then have a real-time register of centres that have attended training.
This does not commit your centre in anyway to taking patients if a major incident occurred, this would come through your own national agencies channels.
An online CD will then be available for keeping within your centre.
