EBMT is a forward thinking organisation that maintains a philosophy of collaborating with like-minded partners, especially where it envisages the possibility of instigating or adding value to educational initiatives. At present, EBMT is involved in the following educational projects in partnership with other entities:
The European online cord blood learning portal for use by doctors, nurses, midwives, surgeons, UCB processing and testing laboratories, scientists and study groups. EBMT is one of 15 partners in this initiative supported by the European Commission Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
The Eurocord-Ed website has recently been given an internal makeover in order to improve navigability and access to the large array of cord blood resources that it houses.
The European Network of Paediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency (Enpr-EMA) is a network of research networks, investigators and centres with recognised expertise in performing clinical studies in children.
Enpr-EMA's main objectives are to:
Foster high-quality, ethical research on the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines for use in children,
Enable collaboration between networks and stakeholders
Coordinate studies relating to paediatric medicines and avoid unnecessary testing in children,
Build up scientific and administrative competence at a European level,
Help with the recruitment of patients for clinical trials,
Promote European Commission framework programme applications.
