Name of National Group

The National Group may incorporate EBMT within its title as long as it agrees to follow the guidelines closely.

Main Committee

There should be a group of people e.g. Chairperson and committee responsible for the National Group who in turn e.g. the chairperson, should report back to the main EBMT Nurses Committee. The person responsible for each national group will meet together once a year with The EBMT Nurses Committee and other National Group Leaders to give feedback and provide discussion and probable collaborative research ideas.

Constitution

Each National Group should have its own constitution approved by The EBMT Nurses Group Committee. Each National Group must have its own aims and objectives.

Membership

Nurses belonging to the National Group should be members of The EBMT Nurses Group.

Finance

Any profit made by the National Group will be given to The EBMT Nurses Group. If the National Group is disbanded then all finances will be given to the EBMT Nurses Group.

Meetings

All meetings, study days and Annual General Meetings of the National Groups are open to all members of the EBMT Nurses Group.

Research

All research or audit forms that are carried out in the name of the national EBMT Group should be seen by a member of the EBMT Nurses Committee.

Communication

Where there are National Groups affiliated to the EBMT Nurses Group, this group will perform the role of the EBMT contact person.

National Contact Persons

In the countries where a National Group is affiliated to the EBMT, the Chair is considered the National contact person.

Role

  • Promote the EBMT Nurses Group within your own country by advertising the annual EBMT Nurses conference in Nursing Journals and appropriate professional journals allied to the speciality.
  • Communicate with other haematology units and bone marrow units within your country.
  • Act as an information officer for the EBMT Nurses Group by answering questions regarding the group and contacting the Nurses board if you are unable to answer any of the questions.
  • Encourage membership of the group so that we can evolve and become a strong group so that research can be performed on a multi-centre study basis.
  • Encourage nurses to submit abstracts for posters and oral presentation for annual conference.
  • Encourage nurses and other allied professionals to submit articles to the EBMT Nurses Group Journal.
  • Encourage a networking system for Bone Marrow and Haematology nurses in the form of National Groups/working parties.
