Payment Process

At the Annual General meeting in Hamburg, 2006 it was agreed that the term of Annual NG membership would run from 1st January to 31st December. To make it easier and more transparent for all of us, including you as members, the following procedure for individual members will be introduced for 2007 and 2008 membership payments.

At the beginning of November you will receive an e-mail from the EBMT Secretariat in Barcelona reminding you to renew your membership for the following year. You will be asked to e-mail, post or fax back a renewal form to indicate your interest in renewing your NG membership and to update your contact details. You will also be asked to transfer the membership fee (40 €) to the NG-Bank account. Once we have received confirmation of payment and the completed renewal form you will be:

  • Activated in the membership list for the following year, which will then entitle you to the benefits of EBMT NG membership (reduced registration for the annual congress, newsletters, scholarships and grants etc.)

  • Sent an e-mail confirming your membership for the following year, your membership number and password etc.

Members that do not respond by 1st December will receive one final reminder at the beginning of December. However, the final deadline for payment and renewal of membership will be 15th December. Should you not respond within this deadline your membership will be deactivated and you will not be able to enjoy the advantages and discounts available to NG members

This will assist us in providing AKM (Congress Organisers) with a list of current members and avoid confusion when individual members try to register for the annual congress. Individuals trying to register for the annual congress as members without having renewed and paid the membership fee will automatically receive an invitation to become a member.

The procedure for nurses included as part of a team in a centre-membership CIC (as you are aware, one nurse can be included in the membership of your centre without additional charges with the same benefits) will be as follows:

During the year the PI of each centre will receive two reminders to review their membership and update the CIC details. The listed nurses will get a confirmation of their addition to the centre's membership list at the beginning of January each year and these nurses will also be asked to check their contact details. To facilitate this process you may wish to check with your PI and enquire if there is a nurse already listed.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the EBMT Secretariat or the EBMT NG Treasurer

Inclusion of Nurses and Datamanagers in EBMT centres (CIC)

At the General Assembly meeting on 23 July 2003, the proposal to include a nurse and datamanager in EBMT centres was approved. Centres may now add a nurse and data manager to their CIC, free of charge. Centres are entitled to list the names of 3 physicians, 1 nurse and 1 data manager for the membership fee of 750€. For each additional nurse member thereafter, the current fee of 40€ would apply.

The nurse added to the team will automatically become a member of the Nurses Group. For each nurse added, an amount of 40€ will be transferred by the EBMT to the Nurses Group.

The purpose of this initiative is to open up EBMT membership, recognising the importance of teamwork in BMT. It will also promote involvement in the Nurses Group and allow the group more financial independence.

You can check whether your centre has a nurses listed as part of its team by consulting the EBMT on-line membership list. If the princiapl Investigator of your centre has not yet listed a nurse please contact Lissa Perteghella at the EBMT Secretariat.

Membership List

A list of the Nurses Group members who are not listed as part of a CIC can be viewed in alphabetical order under CIC 8004 in the membership list page.
