A great opportunity for 2008 and a challenge for each Member and Centre!
The EBMT Nurses Group Board invites registered nurses, working in stem cell transplantation (SCT) centre in Europe, who are also a member of the EBMT-NG, to send an application to participate in an Exchange Visit Program. This Exchange Programme’s aim is to visit another European centre as well as hosting a nurse from the visited centre for 1 week.
It is hoped that during the exchange visit, two European stem cell transplant centres situated in different European countries will compare and learn from each others clinical practices.
The visit should focus on a specific area of patient’s care undergoing stem cell transplantation and will also help to improve the communication and collaboration between European SCT centres.
The first Exchange Visit took place in 2002 between London and Zurich. Since then, each year the Board has been able to support these kinds of visits. Colleagues that have participated in the past have been very enthusiastic and reported extensively about their learning accomplishments.
Following the Exchange Visits that have taken place, staff on the visited wards have gone on to discuss their practices and develop quality of care even further.
We would like to encourage EBMT NG members to take part in the Exchange Visit Program.
