This year's programme 

Introduction

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of IDWP-EBMT, I am very pleased to invite you to the 11th training course of “Diagnosis and Strategies for management of infectious complications after stem cell transplantation”.

The program has been designed to cover all the main aspects of infectious disease complications after stem cell transplantation and to give the opportunity to all participants to discuss and interact with many experts in this field.Moreover, all participants are warmly invited to send any case report considered particularly interesting for the session “Case Discussion”; the authors of the selected reports (4) will be entitled to reimbursement of their accommodation. 

The request of European of continuing medical education has been submitted.

The city of Venice has many historical sites and cultural places located at 10 minutes from the Congress Center and easily achievable by boat bus.

Course Dates

The Training course will take place on 16th, 17th and 18th October 2008.

Programme

There will be a general overview covering the main infectious complications after Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (viral, bacteriological, fungal,...).

Case Reports

At the end of each session there will be the opportunity for delegates to present a case report (4) which should provide a springboard for further discussions. In order to submit an application for a case report, please download the course application form making sure to include the title and an abstract of your proposal.

The delegates who will be selected for a case presentation will have their travel offered.

3) Only complete applications will be considered.

4) The deadline for applications is Saturday 20th September 2008.

5)The course venue will be San Servolo Island, Venice, Italy

6) The maximum number of participants will be 40 to facilitate discussion and interaction.

7) Delegates will be chosen through a number of criteria including number of year's of experience since graduating and academic achievements to date.

8) Delegates will have to make and pay for their own travel arrangements.
