The EBMT welcomes media interest in the scientific and clinical issues that will be addressed at the 36th Annual Congress of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, scheduled for 21st - 24th March 2010, in Vienna, Austria.

Below you will find an overview of the Press Guidelines established for this event.

Members of the press must register to attend the congress. Registration for press is free and accredited members of the press are entitled to:

  • Attend the EBMT Press conference on 22nd March 2010 venue: G560
  • Open admission to all EBMT sessions throughout the Congress
  • Access to the Press Room Mon 22nd 09:00-17:00 & Tues 23rd 09:00-17:00
  • Documentation accompanying the Congress, including the EBMT Press Kit (click title to download)

To register for the Congress as a member of the press:

  • Please download the regular registration form and fax it completed to: +41 61 6867788 or send it by email to: christof.zimmermann@congrex.com. Please make sure that you mark the form 'Press'

  • On arrival at the congress venue go to the Congrex registration desk to show your press credentials and receive your Press Badge, you will then be directed to the press room to collect relevant press materials

For all registrations received before 15th March 2010 a written confirmation will be provided. Registrations will continue to be processed until the beginning of the congress and onsite registrations are possible at the Congress Secretariat.

  • Press identification requirements

    The Congress is only open to accredited journalists. When registering at the Congress, official identification will be required in the form of one of the following:


    1. Accredited press card
    2. A letter of assignment on the letterhead of the news organisation*
    3. A business card issued by a recognised news organisation

    A Press Badge will be issued to journalists (including freelance journalists) from the following media sources:

    1. Journals, magazines and news publications
    2. News agencies
    3. Newsletter media
    4. Broadcast media

    Use of Press Badges

    Registered press are required to wear their EBMT press badge at all times while on site at the Congress. The Press Badge will entitle bearers access to:

    1. The scientific sessions listed in the Congress final programme
    2. The Press conference scheduled for 30th March, 2009 at 13:00 in the Press Centre of the congress venue
    3. The Congress Exhibition room
    4. The Press Room*

    *An onsite media service is at the disposition of accredited press members. Please take advantage of the services available: internet access, laptop connections, etc. You will also find all the materials you need to report on the highlights of the meeting, including the full Press Kit and other background information; bio-sketches and abstracts of the speakers at the Press Conference.

    A member of staff from the University of Vienna Press Office will be available to assist you in English or German.

    We would like to advise all members of the press that the use of film and/or video equipment to record any of the EBMT sessions is strictly prohibited unless explicit permission from the EBMT is obtained in writing. When this permission is obtained, an EBMT PR staff member will schedule a time to be present during the filming.


    Press Room Guidelines

    Access to the Press Room is restricted to accredited journalists. All public relations and corporate representatives are urged to respect the space provided for journalists to work and their need to meet strict deadlines.

    Use of the EBMT logo on any materials without explicit written permission from the EBMT is prohibited.

    It should be noted that it is forbidden to distribute unsolicited materials outside the Media Room. Express permission for the distribution of any materials should be sought from the EBMT.

    Abstracts presented at the Congress should not be cited until the official start date of the congress on 21st March 2010..

    Non-EBMT Press Events

    Press briefings, news conferences, and press receptions, other than those sponsored by the EBMT, are not permitted on site at the convention centre at any time during convention.
